Horrific Crime: Dogs Hanged Brutally In Spain

Guardia Civil officers are looking for those responsible for hanging two dogs in a pine forest near the town of Mota del Cuervo (Cuenca). The animals, which were found yesterday, appear to have been killed some days previously. They were found with their legs and muzzles bound with nylon rope. It has been confirmed that one was a mastiff bitch, and the other a young mongrel.

A spokesman from the El Refugio animal protection association, which reported the incident to the police after being advised by a local protection agency, explained that it is normal in such cases for the dogs to be left resting on their back legs to prolong the agony (photo). If caught, the perpetrators may face between three to twelve months behind bars
