Man Pleads No Contest For Torturing Dog

A Flint man has pleaded no contest to charges that he dragged his German shepherd behind his car.

Samuel J. Motley Jr., 57, pleaded no contest Friday to killing or torturing animals, a four-year felony. He entered the plea before 68th District Judge Nathaniel C. Perry III under a program that allows district court judges to accept felony pleas.

A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing purposes. Prosecutors said they will recommend that Motley receive up to nine months in jail and probation when he is sentenced before Genesee County Circuit Judge Judith A. Fullerton next month.

ONLY NINE MONTHS IN JAIL?

How about NINE YEARS?!

This is sick. I heard of a similar case, involving a cat, last week. This is as brutal as it comes. And the punishment should be just as brutal.
