2006 Iron Dog Challenge

The Virginia Police Work Dog Association, in conjunction with the Virginia Beach Police Department K-9 Corps, will host the 2006 Iron Dog Challenge at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Fort Story Club, Building 1102.

The event is free and open to the public.

Each K-9 team must negotiate a three-mile course that includes man-made and natural obstacles, marksmanship, a K-9 carry and an officer rescue drag.

The course also involves an exercise in each team's specialty - criminal apprehension, narcotic or bomb detection, or a rescue find.
