Dogs Need Public Space, Too!!!

DOG owners are barking mad at a proposed ban on exercising their animals in Noble's Park.

Douglas Corporation is proposing dogs should only be allowed to run free in a dedicated area near St Ninian's Church hall.

The controversial move comes after a continuing problem with dog fouling.

But owners are angry and a petition with 600 signatures has been presented to the town hall.

Peta Cubbon, of Laureston Grove, Douglas, walks her dog in Noble's Park twice a day.

She said: 'There is a large group of regular dog walkers and we all pick up after our animals.

'We know some people don't clean up after their dogs but the majority of people using the park do. It's not fair that responsible dog owners should have to suffer.

'If dogs are not allowed to have their freedom, they are not able to mix and socialise which is important for them, they need stimulating.
