Train Your Dog!!!
A dog in David Mozeliak's canoe may have caused the capsizing that claimed the man's life. Mozeliak, 46, a Meriden resident who lived at 27 Blackstone St., drowned Saturday after his canoe overturned at Paper Goods Pond. Berlin police say Mozeliak was attending a child's birthday party on Percival Road, which borders the pond, when he decided to go out in the canoe and took the dog along for the ride. "We think the dog had something to do with it, the tipping over," Capt. Larry Schubert said.
Dogs must be trained. Period. It is extremely important, and here is a perfect example why. Further, some dogs should not be put in certain situations. This is a tragedy that could have been prevented.
