You should read www.DoggieNews.com’s excellent analysis of the anti-dog bill, PAWS, being promoted by Sen. Santorum.
Two excellent points from this article, which I hadn’t considered: “If the PAWS Act gets signed into law, two things will happen. First, many hobby breeders who sell more than the minimum levels defined in the PAWS Act will go out of business because it will force them to obtain a USDA license, and they will not want to make modifications to their home just to get that license. Second, those puppy mills that Senator Santorum is speaking about will move their operations into the Caribbean or in Mexico, where they will be totally free from US oversight.”
As mentioned in an earlier post, many of the pit fighting crime rings are located in Mexico. They breed vicious, unstable dogs here and there, and then organize fights there. They can do this, and wreck many breeds, because it is driven by gambling and crime. Is there any rational reason to believe that if dog breeding heads to Mexico, that the quality of the dogs produced will increase? You’ve got to be sick in the head to believe that.
Get the point?
Here’s another shocking detail. The American Kennel Club is SUPPORTING this legislation!
Normally, I’m on the side of the AKC… but this smells. Something is wrong, seriously wrong, at the top, if this kind of thing can be supported. It’s time for the breed clubs to assert their powers and stand up and fight for change in that organization.
As we all know (except for the hard core nuts, who will deny any fact that conflicts with their ideology), the Democrat Party is completely dysfunctional. But wait, if you’ve been reading the news lately, you’ll see most conservatives can prove something is seriously wrong in the Republican Party, too.
What kind of Senator is Santorum? What kind of person is he? What is wrong with him? No rational person would continue with this kind of dangerous legislation. Does he have the bearing and capacity to be a Senator? Is this the kind of person you want in office?
What Is Wrong With Senator Santorum?
At this juncture, I think this whole affair disqualifies him as a conservative, a Republican, or a person that should be in any government office.
